The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) are a unique and hugely professional group of people dedicated to preventing violence, harm and the associated psychological damage that accompanies such incidents.
I was hugely honoured to be invited to travel to the beautiful state of Montana recently to deliver the keynote speech.
The title was “United Kingdom Threat Management- Trials and Tribulations” and featured my journey into threat assessment/management and how the Parliamentary Liaison and Investigation Team I ran prevented harm to UK politicians. The second part of the presentation discussed the difference between the UK/EU and the USA with regards to how we combat workplace violence and harm, the language we use, the types of incidents we have and the lack of professional threat assessment teams that exist in the UK and EU within corporate settings.
